The Advanced Islamic Studies Course is based on the Darse Nizami syllabus which is taught around the world. This course focuses mainly on the Arabic Language in the initial years to give the student access to a wide variety of advanced subjects which are taught in the later years. It is taught by Qualified Teachers through the English medium using books written in English in the first 2 years. The remaining years, students will study books written in Arabic. In the course, after completing Essential Islamic Studies and grasping the Arabic Language in the first 2 years, students will go on to translate the entire Quran and books of hadith. They will also study the tafsir of the Quran along with studying Fiqh, Usul Fiqh and many more advanced subjects. Towards the end of the course students will have an in depth study of all the major books of Hadith. Students will sit exams twice year. The end of year exam needs to be passed in order to progress onto the next year. At the end of the course students will graduate and will be provided with a certificate which will enable them to then teach themselves.
The course can either be studied Full Time over 5 days during the day or Part Time over 5 days in the evenings. Full Time option will take 6 years while the Part Time option will take 7 years. The first 2 years of the course is a combination of the Essential Islamic Studies Course and the Arabic Language Course. Essential Islamic Studies is taught on Monday & Tuesday and comprises of Tajweed, Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Tafsir & Hadith. While the Arabic Language course is taught Wednesday to Friday and comprises of Arabic Grammar, Etymology and Literature. These 2 courses can also be taken independently so that the first 2 years of the Advanced Islamic Studies is spread over 3-4 years. This is advised for anyone who has a busy schedule and cannot commit to 5 days of class straight away or students who are young and want to ease into the Advanced Islamic Studies Course.
